   • Coming January 2014: Covered California will operate the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP), that is designed for employers with 50 or fewer full-time equivalent employees to give them unprecedented opportunities to offer a variety of Qualified Health Plans to their employees.    • Open Enrollment for ObamaCare starts October 1, 2013!  The earliest coverage start date is January 1, 2014, and all plans will be guaranteed-issue regardless of preexisting conditions. This is the major implemention of health insurance reform we have been waiting for. Eligible folks making less than 400% of the Federal Poverty Level can receive government subsidies applied to the cost of plans purchased via the Health Benefit Exchange. Income eligibility is based the MAGI (Modified Adjusted Gross Income) listed in your prior year’s tax return. Our licensed experts will help you to select a plan that fits your budget and situation, either inside or outside of the Exchange, called Covered California.
